PESHAWAR    -    Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Taimur Jhagra on Monday inaugurated a 12-day Typhoid Conjugate Vaccination campaign here at Police and Services Hospital while giving typhoid vaccine to children. The campaign will continue from Monday to October 15 in urban areas of 22 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In this campaign, about 2.8 million children between the age of 9 months to 15 years will be vaccinated with the typhoid conjugate vaccine. Director General (DG) Health Services Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr Shaheen Afridi, Additional Director General Health Services Dr Shahid Younis, Director EPI Dr Arif Khan, General Secretary PPA Dr Bawar Shah, World Health Organization (WHO) Dr Babar Alam and UNICEF Provincial Chief Abdullah was also present on this occasion. Provincial Health Minister Taimur Jhagra said that the campaign is being run in those districts of the province where there is a fear of an increase in typhoid cases. He thanked the partner institutions for supporting the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the campaign and for providing services in other vaccination campaigns including Corona.
