BAHAWALPUR    -  A review meeting on price con­trol measures was held under the chairmanship of Commis­sioner Bahawalpur Division Raja Jahangir Anwar at his of­fice on Monday. 

In the video link meeting, Dep­uty Commissioner Bahawalpur Zahid Parvez Waraich, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar Captain (retd) Muhammad Wa­sim, Deputy Commissioner Ra­him Yar Khan Syed Musa Raza, Additional Commissioner Coor­dination Faisal Atta Khan, and other officers were present. 

Addressing the meeting, com­missioner Bahawalpur said that 125 price control magistrates inspected 393 business centers last week and collected fines of Rs. 854,500 for overcharging. 

As many as 26 cases were registered, 10 business points were sealed and 20 people were arrested on the spot. Commis­sioner Bahawalpur directed all price control magistrates and administrative officers to moni­tor more effectively.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Cor­ruption Establishment (ACE) Sargodha Region will hold an open court on October 4. In a statement issued by the ACE, the ACE will hold the open court on every first Tuesday of every month in Sargodha re­gion to control corruption and provide justice. Regional Di­rector Anti-Corruption Asma Ijaz Cheema will listen to the public complaints.

DC HOLDS REVENUE PUBLIC SERVICE COURT

On the second day of the monthly public courts in three tehsils of Narowal district, As­sistant Commissioners Maria Javed and Dr Arshad Wattoo conducted public service rev­enue courts in their respective tehsils to address complaints of the citizens on the spot.

The public service revenue court was held at Tehsil Complex Narowal, where Deputy Commis­sioner Narowal Captain (retd) Shoaib Ali listened to the com­plaints and issued instructions to the revenue officers to resolve them on the spot. Assistant Com­missioner Zohaib Ali, In-charge Service Centre ADLR Tehsildar Saleem Baryar, Naib Tehsildar M Arshad, Shehzad Anwar and oth­ers were also present.

The deputy commissioner said that the purpose of or­ganising the public service revenue courts was to listen to the problems being faced by people in the revenue matters and make it possible to solve them immediately.
