Safe City’s ‘Hotel Eye’ software operational in capital to identify criminal elements

ISLAMABAD-Following the special directives of ICT police high-ups, the Safe City project is playing an effective role in the prevention of crimes and effective security in the federal capital, informed a police spokesman on Monday.
According to the details, DIG Safe City Romail Akram said that ‘Hotel Eye’ software is fully operational and working effectively with all capital city’s police stations for identification of individuals and registering the data of people staying in hotels and guest houses of Islamabad. He said that during the last 24 hours, a total of 565 peoples data have been entered through Hotel Eye. While a total data of 78,041 people has been entered, out of which a total of 75,803 people’s identity cards were checked. Data of 76 individuals were also sent to the respective police stations for legal proceedings. These data gathering is proving to be very useful in identifying the criminal elements involved in heinous crimes. DIG Safe City further said that action will be initiated after October 04 against the vehicles without number plates. Safe city cameras will be utilized for the purpose of identification of such vehicles. 
The ICT police is using modern technology and all available resources to maintain law and order in the city and also taking all possible steps to ensure the safety of the lives and property of the citizens, he added.
