Rawalpindi-Two persons including a woman were shot dead while bodies of another girl and a drug addict found in different localities of the district, informed sources on Monday. Also, a gun battle between two groups over land dispute left a person injured in Chontra, they said. In Islamabad, a woman died in a road traffic accident on Expressway. Police shifted the bodies to hospitals for autopsy and filed cases, sources said. According to sources, a citizen Sher Afzal lodged complaint with Police Station (PS) Waris Khan, stating his son Sajid was shot dead by his former father-in-law Zartaj Khan and three of his accomplices, when the deceased came to Rawalpindi to attend his friend’s wedding.     In yet another incident, unknown gunman shot dead a 50 years old woman namely Azra Bibi while she was cutting grass along with road at Tharjial in limits of Police Station Mandra, according to sources. In Gujar Khan, a young girl reportedly committed suicide by handing herself with ceiling fan in Dhoke Ali Akbar. Police shifted the body of girl to hospital where she was identified se Mehreen.  During initial investigation, it was suggested that the girl committed suicide due to domestic issue, sources said. A drug addict also died of overdose of narcotics and his body was found laying along a seasonal Nullah in Dhamial. 

Upon alerting by the locals, Dhamial police shifted the body to DHQ hospital for autopsy. So far, the identity of the deceased could not be ascertained by the investigators.

In yet another incident, a speeding car hit and killed a woman on Islamabad Expressway near Faizabad. According to sources, the woman was crossing road with three children when a speeding car hit and killed her on the spot. Rescue 1122 moved the body of woman to PIMS for post-mortem. Local police   registered a case and began searching the car driver involved in killing woman in road traffic accident.

On the other hand, Chontra police booked as many as 20 men on charges of attempted murder and started carrying raids to arrest the accused. According to details, a security supervisor Abdul Jalil      told police that 15 to 20 armed men launched attacked on Bollywood Site and shot and injured a labourer Abu Bakar and fled from scene.   Police lodged a case and began investigation.
