KHYBER AGENCY: Three days anti-polio immunization campaign started in Khyber Agency on Saturday during which over 50 thousand children would be vaccinated.

Assistant Political Agent of Khyber Agency told INP that for first time after five-year gap, 40 lady health visitors (LHVs) were taking part in the campaign and they have been given task to vaccinate 56000 children of the tribal agency, aged under five years.

He said that three polio cases were reported in tehsil Landi Kotal of Khyber Agency during last one month after which Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has imposed polio emergency in the tribal agency.

The Assistant Political Agent said that all resources would be utilized for success of the vaccination campaign and those who would try to create hurdles would be dealt with iron hands. He said that special security arrangements have been made for the immunization teams who will visit door-to-door to vaccinate the children.
