Centre asked to merge Fata with KP

PESHAWAR - Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Asad Qaiser has called upon the government to merge Fata with KP before the upcoming elections in the country. He vowed that PTI will stand with the tribal people side-by-side in this regard.

Addressing a public gathering held under the auspice of the PTI at Chanda village in tehsil Halemzai in Mohmand Agency here on Sunday, he said that his party would fight for the fundamental rights of the tribal people at every forum.

The KP Assembly Speaker said that tribal people had been kept in the dark and the PTI would bring them into the mainstream to bring a positive change in their lives. The gathering was attended by hundreds of people.

He said that it is a historic public meeting that PTI has so far held in the tribal belt. Asad Qaiser said that federal government had promised to make Fata part of the KP province before the upcoming elections, adding now the polling was approaching while the government was not fulfilling its own promise, which he termed, regrettable.

He said that JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and PkMAP Chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai asked the federal government to stop the implementation of the recommendations of the FATA Reforms Committee.

Amid tight security arrangements, people from all walks of life attended the PTI gathering held with Asad Qaiser in the chair, who in his speech said that PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif had been disqualified by the apex court proving to have been involved in corruption.

He predicted that in the upcoming elections from other parts of the country, the PTI would also make a clean sweep in Fata by defeating the rivals candidates.
