ISLAMABAD- A meeting of the Election Commission, regarding introduction of biometric machines during conduct of Local Government Elections in province of KPK was held under the Chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Mr. Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza in ECP Secretariat, Islamabad today.

The Chief Minister KPK, on his own request, attended the meeting along with Local Government Minister KPK, Advocate General and Secretary LGE.

After detailed discussions and deliberations regarding various difficulties/aspects including procurement, operational, technical, and logistical and security of biometric data in introduction of Biometric Systems, it was decided that Biometrics System will not be used in the upcoming LG Elections in KPK and the LG Elections in KPK will be held on conventional system.
