MIANWALI - The raging power crisis facing the country is feared to further aggravate, as Chashma Nuclear Power Plant-I has been shut down for annual repair-works. According to reports, the yearly closure of the nuclear power plant will entail a shortfall of over 325 Megawatts to the national grid. According to the sources of National Transmission & Despatch Company Limited, the plant has been closed down in accord with a pre-planned schedule, which will exacerbate the already worse power crisis.
The demand of electricity currently stands at 14,500 MWs as against production of 11,000 MWs.
