LAHORE - On the invitation of the Saudi government, Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar left for Saudi Arabia on Monday to perform Umrah.
During his stay in Saudi Arabia, the governor will also meet Saudi officials and the overseas Pakistanis. In a statement, Ch Sarwar said that relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were stronger than a rock. “Pak-Saudi relations are getting stronger under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan,” he said and thanked the Saudi ambassador and the Saudi government for the invitation.
Earlier in the day, Member British Parliament, Naz Shah met Punjab governor at Governor House, Lahore on Monday and told him about her efforts for raising voice for the liberation of Kashmiris and Palestinians in the UK Parliament. Ch Sarwar appreciated the good work done by Naz Shah and other British MPs for advocating the case of two oppressed nations.
Both, the governor and the British MP, urged the international community to play its role in resolving Kashmir and the Palestine issues.
Ch Sarwar said that Overseas Pakistanis were the pride of the nation as they stood with their Kashmiri and Palestinian brothers and sisters. He said that the real face of India had been exposed all over the world.
He further stated that India was the biggest facilitator of terrorists in the region and the enemy of peace. “World’s silence on Indian terrorism in Kashmir is no less than a crime and the dream of peace in the region cannot be materialised in the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he observed.
Naz Shah said that resolution of Kashmir and Palestine issues was vital to establish peace in the world, adding that Narendra Modi was the killer of Kashmiris and the Indian Muslims. She urged that the world must take notice of it.
