KP CM urged to give attention towards agri sector

Mardan   -  Anjuman-e-Kashtkaran Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president, Haji Namat Shah, on Monday appealed to the Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and provincial minister for agriculture to give attention towards agriculture sector of the province which is declining day by day.  

Talking to The Nation, Haji Namat Shah said the prices of synthetic fertilizers have been doubled and the prices of pesticides and petrol have also been increased manifold. He said that sub-standard fertilizers and disinfectants are openly being sold in the market. He said that irrigation and agricultural taxes are also very high for the poor farmers. He argued that the government should provide relief to farmers.  

Namat Shah said the government is spending billions of rupees foreign exchange on the import of sugar and wheat. He urged the government to provide relief to the farmers and also to announce a package for farmers because they are living miserable lives.
