Rawalpindi-City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Shehzad Nadim Bukhari on Tuesday held meeting with ulemas and religious scholars at Police Lines regarding upcoming Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).
Besides SSP Operations Wasim Riaz Khan, the meeting was also attended by Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal Rizvi, Pir Syed Izhar Hussain Shah Bukhari, President Seerat Milad Committee Sheikh Azam, Qari Saif Ullah Saifi, Qazi Muhammad Zahoor Elahi Qadri, Syed Chiragh Din Shah, Shaukat Abbas Jafari, Syed Ateeq Ur a Rehman Shah, Syed Zahid Abbas Kazmi, Kausar Abbas Qami, Hafiz Qasim Ayub, Yasir Iqbal Rizvi and others members of milad committees.
During the meeting, CPO reviewed security arrangements being made for shielding the processions of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) and also sought cooperation of ulemas, religious scholars and traders to avoid any untoward incident. He said that ulemas had always played a pivotal role in maintaining peace in the city.
He said that close cooperation between police and ulemas would be helpful in controlling law and order situation.
The ulemas also assured CPO their full support on the occasion.
CPO issues transfer and posting orders of 4 SHOs
City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Shehzad Nadim Bukhari has issued transfer and posting orders of four station house officers, informed a police spokesman on Tuesday. A notification in this regard has also been issued by the top cop of Rawalpindi police, he said.
According to him, CPO Syed Shehzad Nadim Bukhari appointed Sub Inspector (SI) Shakeel Ahmed as Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station (PS) Ratta Amral while closed the former SHO to police lines. Similarly, SI Imran Haider, who was serving as SHO PS Chontra, has been transferred and posted as SHO PS Chakri, he said.
SI Naseerabad replaced SI Imran Abbas as new SHO PS Chontra, said the police spokesman.
He added CPO also posted SI Nasim Abbas as SHO PS Ganjmandi.
All the newly appointed SHOs have assumed their charges as per orders of CPO, he said.
Meanwhile, Sadiqabad police have registered a case against three police officers including a former SHO on contempt of court, according to police spokesman.
The police officers against whom a case was registered under section 155C of Police Order 2022 have been identified as SI Tahir Rehan, the former SHO PS Sadiqabad, SI Iftikhar Ahmed and T/ASI Shehzad Zafar. CPO Syed Shehzad Nadim Bukhari had also dismissed the three police officers including SI Tahir Rehan from service.
According to him, former SHO PS Sadiqabad SI Tahir Rehan along with two of his subordinates had registered a case on orders of a session judge which were declared null and void by Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench otherwise.
The troika not only filed case but hid the facts from their senior officers, he said adding that the police officers committed contempt of court by arresting the accused nominated in the case.
In a statement, CPO said that after thorough inquiry on a citizen’s complaint, he has ordered service dismissal for ex-SHO Tahir Rehan, Iftikhar SI and Shehzad ASI of PS Sadiqabad.
