A moment like that! Fourteen years ago Sunday, Kelly Clarkson was crowned the first American Idol. The “Stronger” singer, 34, took to Twitter on the anniversary of her historic win to mark the occasion.
“14 yrs ago 2day @AmericanIdol opened a door w/such amazing opportunities & experiences 4 me! I am 4ever grateful & blessed! #heresto14more,” she wrote.

This comes months after the final season of the hit singing competition ended in April.
Since her win, Clarkson has released seven albums with chart-topping singles like “Breakaway,” “My Life Would Suck Without You,” and “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You).”
In June, the GRAMMY winner announced that she has signed a new deal with Atlantic Records for a “soulful” new album to be released in 2017.
"I came from American Idol, which was awesome, but it was kind of an arranged marriage after getting in the industry," Clarkson explained of her relationship with RCA Records. "While it was awesome sometimes, sometimes it was rough."
