LAHORE- Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that it was unconstitutional to demand resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, adding that the ulterior motive of the PTI was exposed now.
In an interview, Shahbaz Sharif said PML-N believes that one can protest in a democratic system. However, the government also knows how to handle those who were threatening to derail the current political system and disturb law and order, he added.
Punjab CM termed the demand of PM’s resignation from Imran Khan as unconstitutional and undemocratic, adding that the agenda of the PTI was exposed now.
He said that Khan was depriving people of their basic rights by threatening to oust the government, saying that Nawaz Sharif was the symbol of democracy in Pakistan.
Earlier on Tuesday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chief Imran Khan demanded the resignation of PM Nawaz and a re-election in the country. Cricketer-turned politician said that the complete set of demands and the way to achieve them will be presented on Independence Day.
