OIC delegation to visit AJK, LoC

ISLAMABAD   -  A powerful delegation of the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC), currently on a visit to Islamabad, would pay an official visit to Azad Jammu and Kashmir to meet political leadership there and exchange views with them over the latest situation in IIOJK.

Informed sources told The Nation that the delegation would also visit the Line of Control and see the civilian destruction due to the heavy Indian firing in the past. During the visit, the delegation would be briefed on the security situation of LoC. The delegation would also meet civilian population living along the LoC and would get facts from them.

The OIC delegation members are from UAE, Turkey, Uganda, Tunisia, Morocco, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Gabon and Nigeria.

It may be recalled that Indian did not allow the OIC IHRC to visit IIOJK, which clearly shows India is indulged in massive human rights violations in IIOJK and wanted to hide it from the international community.

In the past, IPHRC had issued a report and several statements highlighting the deplorable plight of Kashmiri people and India’s illegal and unilateral actions, while endorsing the internationally recognized disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir.
