NAB sympathises with no individual: NAB chairman

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice retired Javed Iqbal said on Thursday NAB had no sympathy with any individual.

“NAB is an independent body and has no sympathies for any political party or an individual,” said NAB chairman in his statement issued.

He said NAB’s prime object is to serve Pakistan and bring back the looted money to the national exchequer.

“Across the board accountability is underway countrywide to bring back the looted money to national kitty,” Iqbal maintained.

Ruling out the criticism, the head of anti-graft watchdog said, the NAB had recovered Rs 297 billion and distributed among  the affected, who were deprived of their money, adding that the bureau will come up to the expectations of the countrymen.

On November 30, NAB chairman chaired a high level meeting at the Bureau’s headquarters to review overall progress of all the bureaus.

NAB Chairman Javed Iqbal maintained, the National Accountability Bureau is carrying out accountability process without any discrimination across the country.

He had underlined the need to root out menace of corruption, which is core cause of wrongdoings in the country.

The NAB chairman directed all the bureaus to bring mega corruption cases to their logical end on emergency bases and asked to refer other routine cases to the concerned anti-corruption agencies.
