LAHORE Co-adjudicator Bishop of Lahore Rt Rev Irfan Jameel was consecrated at the Cathedral Church on Saturday. The consecration service was led by Bishop of Lahore Rt Rev Alexander John Malik. Rt Rev Irfan Jameel would become Bishop of Lahore after 18 months on completing the period of orientation. Rt Rev Malik has been serving as Bishop of Lahore since 30 years. The consecration ceremony was attended by bishop, clergy men and church leaders from across Pakistan. Prominent among these were Bishop of Karachi Sadiq Daniel, Bishop of Hyderabad Rafique Masih, Bishop of Faisalabad John Samuel, Bishop of Sialkot Samuel Pervaiz, Deputy Secretary General National Council of Churches Sohail Akhtar and Rev Shahid Miraj. Prior to his election as Bishop of Lahore Rev Irfan Jameel served at St Thomas Church Islamabad. Earlier, he served at St Andrews Church in Lahore and for 17 years served as General Secretary of Pakistan Fellowship of Evangelical Students. He has done masters in political science. He did his graduation in theology from the Gujranwala Theological Seminary and masters in theology from Trinity Theological College, Singapore. His wife is former personnel manager of Citibank. He has two daughters.
