ISLAMABAD - Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, left for Federal Republic of Germany to participate in Munich Security Conference (MSC). While Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi who was also scheduled to participate in the conference had to cancel his visit at the eleventh hour because of urgent domestic engagements, as he had to attend PPPs Central Executive Council (CEC) meeting. The MSC is slated for 4-6 February. It is held in Munich every year and brings together senior political and military leaders from around the world to engage in intensive debate on current and future security challenges. The COAS is also scheduled to meet senior German leaders and other participants. It is important for Pakistan as the MSC has a host of issues on its agenda including non-proliferation, counter-terrorism.
