Karachi - Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Friday said that Pakistani people are with their Kashmiris brethern not on only on 5th February but entire year.
We have severe concerns over violation of human rights in Indian Occupied Kashmir and support the valley’s people in their struggle for right to self-determination, the Minister passed these remarks while addressing an event as a chief guest organised by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day at Frere Hall.
Hurriyat Conference Leader Sardar Nazakat Ali, Administrator Karachi Laeeq Ahmed, Metropolitan Commissioner KMC Afzal Zaidi, departmental heads and employees of KMC were also present in large number.
Nasir Shah said that India had always refused to give right to self-determination to the people of Kashmir as 90 percent population of the valley is Muslim.
He said that a joint demand should be given to World by Pakistan’s all political parties as well as military that we want right to self-determination for the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir.
The Minister said that the way Indian authorities are oppressing women, children, old age and young in its occupied part of the valley is not acceptable.
“We have firm believe that Kashmiris will succeed in their struggle and we would keep supporting them till they achieve their target,” he added.
Speaking on local bodies, Nasir Shah was of the view that Sindh governments had always supported local institutions and that’s why it is providing special grant to KMC.
He said that Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had taken notice of shortfall in the head of KMC employees’ salaries and due to his efforts the issue is resolved.
The Minister also hailed Administrator and Metropolitan Commissioner for bringing financial betterment in KMC and taking measures to increase the revenue.
“Sindh government wants to make local bodies empowered and bringing new laws to serve the masses more efficiently,” Nasir Shah said.
Speaking on the occasion, Administrator Karachi Laeeq Ahmed said that KMC hold such event every year to express solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir. He said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had said that Kashmir is Carotid Artery of Pakistan and vowed to keep struggling for Kashmir cause.
“We are following directives of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and supporting the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir,” he added. The Administrator also thanked the people for participating in the event in large number.
Hurriyat Conference Leader Sardar Nazakat Ali said that the people’s participation in large numbers shows Karachiites’ commitment for Kashmir. He said that Pakistan never accepted India’s occupation on Kashmir and opted the stance that Kashmir belongs to the people of Kashmir.
Nazakat Ali said that the people of Pakistan particularly Sindh had always made sacrifices for Kashmir cause. He said that voices raised for Kashmir in Pakistan don’t go in vain but have effects on international level.
The picture exhibition was arranged in Frere Hall while at the end of the event a rally led by Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah was also carried out.
Separately, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Paksitan (MQM-P) and Tehreek-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) also carried out rallies to express solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir.
