KBC, ABW win Commissioner Karachi Basketball boys, girls titles

LAHORE - Karachi Basketball Club (KBC) clinched the boys and Aram Bagh White (ABW) claimed the girls titles in the 5th Commissioner Karachi Cup Basketball Tournament 2022 that concluded at International Abdul Nasir Basketball Courts Aram Bagh, Karachi. 
According to Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) President Ghulam Muhammad Khan, the KPT-sponsored boys and girls finals were organized successfully by the organizers, who, with their hard work and sincere efforts, made the event a huge success. 
In the boys final, Karachi Basketball Club defeated defending champions Bounce Club by a close margin of 50-46. The girls final saw Aram Bagh White edged past Aram Bagh Green by a narrow margin of 7-6. The enthralling and exciting finals were witnessed and enjoyed by a large crowd present on the occasion. 
The colorful concluding ceremony was graced by Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon, who gave away winning trophies to captains of boys and girls teams. He also handed over individual cash prizes to the top performers of the event. Raj Kumar Lakhwani emerged as the best player of boys event while Rida Anwar was adjudged as the best player of girls event. The prizes from KPT, Faizan Steel and Nadeem Muaz G were also handed over to the top players. 
From 2000 Security Agency, awards were also distributed among the best sports organizers ad officials. The awards winners were KBBA President Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Deputy Commissioner South Irshad Ali, Sindh Solid Waste Board MD Zubair Ahmad Channa, Khalid Jameel Shamsi, Saeed-ur-Rehman Abbasi, Khalil Abbasi, Ghulam Abbas Jamal Adv, KPT Manager PR Shariq Ameen, Maj M Awais of Pak Rangers, Tabraiz Sadiq, Ayaz Mansha, Naseem Ahmad, Usman Ghani, M Haider Khan of MCB and other sports personalities.
 

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Karachi Iqbal Memon said: “Sports play important role in making a society healthy, wealthy and wise. The purpose of conducting a good number of sports activities in the city of Quaid is to engage youth in healthy sports activities so that they may win laurels for them as well for their country. We are also holding a City Marathon in Karachi on February 13 and it is my request to Karachiites to ensure their huge participation in the Marathon and promote sportsmanship in it, making it a huge success.”
