Court orders case against DHQ Hospitals MS

MIANWALI - Additional District and Sessions Judge Ghaffer Mahtab Shah ordered registration of a case against the Medical Superintendent of District Headquarters Hospital Mianwali on account of using expired medicine in the hospital. As per detail, Faisal Malik Awan who is a working journalist, filed a complaint u/s 22-A CRPC for registration for an FIR against the MS DHQ Hospital for using expired and spurious medicines when he was admitted to the hospital. After hearing to arguments put forwards by both the parties, the learned court ordered the City Police to register a case, after recording the statement of the complainant, against the responsible persons for endangering the life of the complainant. JOURNALISTS CONDEMNS KILLING: The local journalist community held a protest in front of Mianwali Press Club to condemn the kidnapping and brutal killing of journalist Saleem Shehzad. The protestors demanded that perpetrators of this heinous crime be brought to justice and that the state must ensure protection to journalists against the harassment of security agencies. Speaking on the occasion, Mianwali Press Club President Rana Amjed Iqbal demanded an independent probe to determine the identity of elements behind the brutal murder. Joint secretary Waqas Malik demanded in his speech stressed an end the National Security Paradigm that has destroyed the fabric of Pakistani society and had generated militancy and religious extremism. The unlimited powers handed over to security agencies as a result of this paradigm are a main reason behind such events. He demanded that the state should ensure all its citizens the fundamental constitutional rights ensuring Right to Life and Freedom of Speech. Senior Journalist Mahmoodul Hassan Khan Niazi, Vice President Syed Muhammad Nasir Naqvi, Anwar Hussain Haqqie, Musa Kaleem Awan and others participated in the protest and condemned this brutal murder.
