Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday sought a reply from the Federal government after admitting a petition for hearing about probe commission on Abbottabad raid by US helicopters. Lawyer Alm-ud-Din filed a petition against the formation of Abbottabad commission in Lahore High Court, arguing that the consultation with the opposition leader of National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was mandatory for the formation of such a commission but the government did not do it. The petitioner pleaded that a new commission should be set up and the Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry should be made its head. The petitioner urged the court that people across the country are declaring Abbottabad operation as an attack on the sovereignty of Pakistan but Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani declared it an historical victory so he has no right to form a commission. Lahore High Court issued a notice to the federal government for reply and adjourned the hearing till last week of June
