Pakistan reports 796 new corona cases, 10 deaths

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan on Saturday morning reported 796 fresh Covid-19 cases marking a week when the country reported fewer than 1,000 daily cases.

The Covid positivity rate also dropped to 2.1 percent in the last 24 hours, down from 2.6 percent a day earlier. As many as 37,785 tests were conducted during the past 24 hours and 796 returned positive. According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 10 more people have lost their lives taking the death toll to 30,258. The NCOC figures showed the number of confirmed positive cases has surged to 1,513,503 after 796 new infections during the last 24 hours. The NCOC in its province-wise Coronavirus update stated that Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The overall number of fatalities has surged to 30,258 out of which 13,518 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 8,083 in Sindh, 6,286 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 1,016 in Islamabad, 788 in Azad Kashmir, 376 in Balochistan and 191 in Gilgit Baltistan. Similarly, the overall tally of positive cases has jumped to 1,513,503 out of which 569,637 Coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 502,455 in Punjab, 216,812 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 134,583 in Islamabad, 43,094 in Azad Kashmir, 35,363 in Balochistan and 11,559 in Gilgit-Baltistan. Pakistan has so far conducted 26,608,558 Coronavirus tests. As many as 1,453,496 patients have recovered in the country so far whereas 842 patients were in critical condition as of Saturday. So far, 127,117,340 people have received their first dose of anti-Ccoronavirus vaccine including 166,131 in the last 24 hours. As many as 9,292,129 citizens have been fully vaccinated while 242,151 received their second dose in the last 24 hours.

 

The number of total administered doses has reached 215,539,999 with 422,935 in the last 24 hours, as per the NCOC.
