Woman robbed of over Rs1.5m in banking fraud

Peshawar     -   A woman has been robbed of Rs1.82 million cash while an Rs5,45,000 bank loan was taken in her name in another transaction by a fraudster. The woman, during a hearing at sessions court, informed the bench that an unknown caller phoned her while introducing himself as a representative of the bank helpline. She said she was asked about the ATM pin and other details, which she provided to the caller. Soon after providing details to the caller, the woman said, Rs1.82 million was withdrawn from her bank. She further said her bank account was also used in a loan transaction of Rs5,45000. She complained about the bank and FIA’s lack of cooperation on the case. The court directed the FIA to register an FIR and probe the case. The woman’s lawyer said that the manager of the bank concerned and the accounts to which the money had been transferred were made respondents in the case.
