PESHAWAR    -    University of Peshawar (UoP) was ranked 1st in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5th in Pakistan and 933rd globally in a ranking of international body.

A US-based think-tank the US News and World Report has ranked the University of Peshawar as 1st in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 5th in Pakistan in the list of top global universities.

A spokesman for the university said that the University of Peshawar is the only university of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to secure a berth in this prestigious ranking. He said the US News and World Report is a Washington-based organisation that has been publishing annual ranking and analysis since 1948.

Vice-Chancellor University of Peshawar Prof Dr Muhammad Idrees congratulated the students, faculty, and staff of the university on the accomplishment. He attributed the university’s ranking to hard work, dedication, and commitment shown by the entire university community and expressed the resolve to work together for creating an enabling environment to foster academics, research, and social responsibility.
