LAHORE - Widespread heavy thundershowers and flash flood is expected in local rivers and nullahs during the next 24 hours according to meteorological department forecast. The rain which has already started is expected in Khyber PK, north of Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Scattered thunderstorm rain is also expected over south Punjab, Sindh and northeast Balochi-stan. The rain has already started in central Punjab including provincial metropolitan which last over three hours on Friday. Met office says weak pressure low over west Rajasthan (India) and adjoining area has merged into seasonal low. The south monsoon current is penetrating in sub-mountain areas of Punjab and Kashmir upto 5000 feet. Meanwhile Thursdays well-marked mons-oon low over northwest Bay of Bengal has moved west-northwestwards and now lies over west Orissa (India). According to flood situation in the country, river Indus at Guddu is in high flood. River Indus at Sukkur and River Kabul at Nowshera are in high flood. River Indus at Tarbela, Kalabagh, Chashma and River Chenab at Trimmu are in medium flood. In Lahore the temperature decreased to maximum 29 degree as well as in other stations in Punjab and Khyber PK.
