The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) nailed two suspected students during a search operation in prominent madrasas of city on Thursday.
The CTD along with police and special branch officials carried out the search operation in the wee hours of Thursday. First, the officials searched through the biggest religious institution of the city, Miftahul Aloom, situated near Chowk Satellite Town. The LEAs personnel scrutinized the relevant record and got information about the students, studying in the seminary. The CTD and police personnel also inspected record of another seminary adjacent to Jamia Mosque Block No-1. During the search, the officials nabbed two suspected students identified as Zardad and Mohammad Ayub, residents of Kohistan, KP province. The CTD, Police and Special Branch officials conducted search in Madrasa Madina, in Faisal Town and others seminaries across the city.
In Mailsi, the Circle Police carried out search operation in two Madrasas - Jamia Abu Huraira and Jamia Ziaul Quran here on Thursday.
Mailsi DSP Ghulam Shabbir Warraich along with Station House Officers (SHOs) of the circle and personnel other law enforcement agencies conducted the search.
The police and LEAs personnel went through the record and checked biometric attestation of all the employees of both the seminaries. They, however, did not find any suspicious or prohibited material or literature from there.
Later, DSP Ghulam Shabbir Warraich said that the search operation in both the seminaries was carried out on the directives of the Vehari DPO, adding that the police were keeping a vigilant eye to check activities of the suspicious elements.
