RAWALPINDI (APP) - President of Rawlpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Kashif Shabbir on Saturday said it was need of the hour to promote non-traditional items for export and the government should provide basic facilities to business community in this regard. He stated this while addressing a training workshop on gems and jewellary organized by the Rawalpindi Chamber, Trade Development Authority (TDAP) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) here. He said that Pakistani gems and jewellary products were very high in demand at international markets. He demanded of the government to take solid measures to promote the local industry and make sincere efforts in this regard. The President RCCI reminded of the traders and the industrialists that it was the time to boost the trade net. Business community plays a vital role in countrys national exchequer and they must play their due role, he added Kashif Shabbir urged the businessmen to explore new markets with new products. He also demanded of the government to facilitate the businessmen in this regard.
