LAHORE - Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) on Thursday announced a 15-member T20 squad for the forthcoming Interloop Pakistan-India Blind Cricket Series to be staged at three different venues across the country.
The series comprise three T20s and three ODIs. The first T20 will be played on February 15 here at the Bagh-e-Jinnah while the other two T20s will be played at Bohranwala Ground Faisalabad on February 16 and 17. However, the three ODIs will be played in Karachi. The first ODI will be held on February 19 at Southend Cricket Stadium DHA Karachi while the second and third ODIs to be played at National Stadium Karachi on February 21 and 23 respectively.
The national ODI team for the series will be announced later on. The T20 team includes Zeeshan Abbasi (capt), M Jameel (vc), Amir Ishfaq, M Toufeeq, M Zafar, M Idrees Saleem, Sajid Nawaz, Anees Javed, Nisar Ali, M Haroon, Israrul Hasan, Irfan Majeed, M Akram, Zahid Mehmood and Tariq Samuel. The officials include Nafees Ahmad (manager), Abdul Razzaq (coach), Tahir Mehmood Butt (asstistan coach) and Masood Jan (trainer).
PBCC chairman Syed Sultan Shah said tough competition was expected in the series as both teams were ranked at top slots in the ranking. "Pakistan and India are best in the World of Blind Cricket. Pakistan is the champion of two ODI World Cups while India is the Twenty20 champion," he concluded.
