RAWALPINDI   -  Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Nadeem Raza said Monday that Pakistan is a responsible and confident nuclear state whose policy is full spectrum deterrence within the scope of reliable nuclear balance.


General Nadeem Raza, who is also Deputy Chairman of the National Command Authority, expressed these views while addressing a seminar on “Regional Environment and Imperatives of Security” organised by the NUST Institute of Policy Studies, in Rawalpindi on Monday. He said Pakistan’s nuclear capability guaranteed the defence and integrity of the motherland.


According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Gen Raza said that the national security of the country is indivisible and it would not allow any compromise on nuclear programme. “Only the National Command Authority (NCA) is allowed to comment on the strategic programme in nuclear countries,” CJCSC said and underlined that Pakistan’s nuclear programme has the support of the masses and all political parties.


He said the civilian and military leadership stands firm with this strategic programme of the National Command Authority. General Nadeem Raza said our national security and safety mechanisms comply with all national and international regulations against all types of threats and baseless comments on the national strategic programme should be avoided. “Our national security and safety mechanisms comply with all national and international regulations against all types of threats.
