Rawalpindi - Station House Officers (SHO) of many police stations in Rawalpindi are allegedly defying the orders of their high-ups, including Regional Police Officer (RPO), regarding ensuring provision of immediate relief to victims of heinous crimes.
Moreover, the defiant SHOs have also been humiliating the victims through different tactics and sheltering the criminals to grease their palms.
As a result, the poor and helpless people have been running from pillar to post for getting justice but in vain, as even the Chief Minister Punjab Complaint Cell has failed to mitigate their sufferings.
A female Ghazala Tabbasum, resident of Hamid Jhangi and wife of Abdul Jabbar who is a constable in the Punjab police and posted in Dera Ghazi Khan, is the fresh victim of Mandra SHO’s injustice. Ghazala is waiting to get registered the case of her missing young daughter namely Busra Perven.
The lady approached RPO Umar Akhter Hayyar Lalayka for justice. The RPO directed the SHO to provide justice to the lady but he allegedly ignored the orders of his boss.
Bushra Perven was allegedly kidnapped by a married man namely Kamran Sabir of Dhoke Kanyal, limits of Police Station, an employee of the National Rural Support Programme on 3/10/2014. The mother of the missing girl lodged a complaint with the Police Station Mandra for filing a case against the kidnaper and for recovery of her daughter but the police reportedly refused to entertain the applicant.
Taking to The Nation on Thursday, Ghazala Perven said that Kamran kidnapped her daughter Bushra on 3/10/2014 from her house. She said that she lodged a complaint with the Police Station Mandra for filing a case against the accused but the SHO and Investigation Officer Karamat refused to register FIR.
She said that she appeared before the RPO on 21/10/2014 tabling an application before him. The RPO marked the application to SHO ordering him to provide her justice.
She said that the SHO and IO violated the orders of RPO, taking advantage of which Kamran tied the knot with Bushra through fake marriage paper. “One day, IO Karamat showed me the copy of marriage paper, saying now you cannot take any legal action against Kamran as he got married with Busra,” she added. She said that she went in depth of the case and it was revealed that the marriage paper was not genuine and was prepared to save the skin of Kamran from police.
Ghazala said that she also forwarded copies of her application to the Human Rights Cell of Supreme Court of Pakistan and CM Complaint Cell, 3 Club Road, Lahore but found no response so far.
She appealed to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take notice of the police injustice and make efforts to recover her daughter.
SHO Police Station Mandra Israr Satti when contacted, he first tried to give an impression that this case was not in his knowledge but later stated that the delay was made because of Muharram duties.
He asked this scribe to send the lady to the police station after Friday prayer and he would look into the matter. The RPO was not available for his comments.
