KARACHI : The Sindh Health Department has constituted an inquiry committee to probe the allegations of improper conduct of Public Sector Medical Colleges/ Universities Entry Test conducted on October 22, through National Testing Service (NTS) at various centres. Special Secretary (Admn), Health Department Aijaz Ahmed Mahesar will be chairman of the committee, said a statement on Monday. Director General Health Services, Sindh, Hyderabad Dr Muhammad Akhlaq Khan, Medical Superintendent Sindh Government Lyari General Hospital, Karachi Dr. Khalil Ahmed Pathan and Additional Director Development, Sindh Health Department Mohsin Shaikh will be its members. Additional Director (Field), Directorate of Health, Karachi Dr Nadeem Akhtar Shaikh will be Convener of the committee. The committee is tasked to ascertain the veracity of allegations appearing in print and social media that question paper and answer key were leaked and provided to candidates prior to test on receiving illegal gratification. It will probe into the process involved for Medical College Entry Test conducted through NTS for admissions in Public Sector Medical Colleges / Universities of the Province; to record and probe statements of stakeholders including the students and parents.

The inquiry committee will submit the findings along with recommendations within 10 days while it can co-opt any member for assistance as per requirement.
