LAHORE - Divisional Public School (DPS) Model Town beat Aitcheson College 1-0 to win the thrilling final of the Inter-school Rugby Championship here on Monday at the Pakistan Rugby Academy Lahore Cantt.
In a hard-fought final, the winners stamped their supremacy in the second half of the play in the one-day event. Top eight schools of the city including City School Ravi Campus, City School Gulberg Campus, Qurban School Walton Road, Crescent School Shadman, DPS Model Town, Aitcheson College (Under-16), City District Government Boys High School and Nurpur School participated in the Under-16 activity.
In the league matches, Aitcheson College thrashed City School Gulberg Campus 10-0, City School Ravi Campus outclassed Qurban School Walton Road 17-0, DPS Model Town routed CTG Boys High School 10-0, Aitcheson College crushed Nurpur 22-0, City School overwhelmed CTG Boys High School 30-0, City school Gulberg beat Nurpur 5-0, DPS Model Town overwhelmed Qurban School 30-0 and Aitcheson College overpowered Crescent School 10-0.
Besides DPS winning the first, the other position holders were Aitcheson College (2nd), City School Gulberg Campus (3rd), City School Ravi Campus (4th) and Crescent Shool (5th). In the end, Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) chairman Fawzi Khawaja was the chief guest and distributed prizes among the teams.
