MULTAN-Veteran politician Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said that the US and India are hatching conspiracies against Pakistan and a massive propaganda campaign has been launched against it in the world.

Addressing a seminar held in connection with the Urs of Maulana Hamid Ali Khan here at Multan Press Club on Monday, he said that Pakistan was created in the name of Islam. "The country has faced many hardships because it is the only place where the voice for Islam and Kashmir is raised from," he pointed out. He said that Pakistan Army is the best force of the world and the entire nation is proud of this institution.

He paid glowing tributes to Maulana Hamid Ali Khan and said that the cleric ruled the hearts of the people and rendered tremendous sacrifices for Islam and Pakistan. "I am sure the followers of Maulana will come out with a commitment to sacrifice their lives whenever Islam or the country is in need," he added. He said that Maulana was a strong voice against Bhutto and entire nation followed him. "He faced Bhutto bravely and fought against oppression," he added. He said that the JUP selected Maulana for its leadership and he led the party in best possible way.



The installation of 1200 cameras at 258 stops of feeder busses has begun and the work will be accomplished in one month. Metro sources disclosed that a company had been given contract to install the cameras and preparation of foundation for the installation had started. The cameras will be connected to the central command and control centre of Metro bus system and it will help ensure the security of the routes and busses.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner Multan division Bilal Ahmad Butt has said that Multan is one of the few cities of the country where citizens are enjoying rapid urban transport system. He said that the metro command and control centre at Chungi No-9 was under construction and it would be completed very soon.

Briefing the Commissioner and RPO, the manager of the command centre Musharraf Ahmad said that the entire route and stations of the metro busses would be monitored with the help of latest technology. He directed the metro administration to install cameras at the front and back of each bus besides seeking help from police for fixing stops.

He declared that the process was underway to simplify card system on speedo busses. He said that the speedo busses were linked with metro stations and the government wanted to facilitate people coming from far flung areas to travel on speedo busses.

RPO Muhammad Idrees directed the metro staff to ensure bio metric entry of every individual coming to metro stations. He said that a recommendation would be sent to the Punjab Mass Transit Authority to install small bag scanners at the stations. He said that police would extend all out support for improving security of the metro stations.
