LAHORE: A 22-year-old worker was killed while three others wounded when a boiler exploded in a steel factory in the Baghbanpura area, police and rescue workers said. The injured workers were shifted to a local hospital, where their condition was reported to be out of danger.
Police sources said that an engineer and three workers were trying to remove some technical fault in the machinery on early Friday when its boiler exploded with a bang because of huge gas pressure.
As a result, Muhammad Ilyas, said to be a resident of Bahawalpur, sustained serious burns and died on the spot. Three other workers, Arshad, Qasim, and Altaf also wounded and were rushed to a hospital. The police have removed the body to the morgue and are investigating.–Staff Reporter
