FAISALABAD - Two youth were killed in a road accident here on Sunday morning. According to police, Akmal (23) and Shoaib (28) were riding a motorcycle at Samundri road when their two-wheeler ran into a parked truck near Chak Ganga Singh. Both the motorcyclists died on the spot.
Police have handed over bodies to their families after completing legal formalities.
Doctors, paramedical staff vaccinated against corona
Doctors and paramedical staff were vaccinated against coronavirus at Allied Hospital Faisalabad on Sunday.
Vice Chancellor Faisalabad Medical University Prof Dr Zafar Ali Chaudhary injected vaccine to the doctors and paramedical staff of the hospital while Medical Superintendent Dr Arshad Cheema, Deputy Medical Superintendent Admin Dr Mian Faheem Yousuf and others were also present.
4-kg charas seized
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized four kilograms of charas in a car near GTS Chowk and arrested an accused.
An ANF spokesman said on Sunday that the anti-narcotics force on a tip-off signalled a car to stop near GTS Chowk and during search recovered 4-kg charas from secret cavities of the vehicle. The police also arrested car-rider Zahid Nawaz of Faisalabad and sent him behind the bars.
Human skeleton found from canal
A human skeleton was found in Rakh Branch Canal in the area of D-Type police station. A police spokesman said on Sunday that Rakh Branch Canal was closed for annual de-silting and some passersby spotted a human skeleton lying in the canal at Sammundri Road near Rafhan Mills and informed the area police. The police took the skeleton into custody while further investigation was under way.
Old enmity claims life
An old enmity has claimed life of a youth in the area of Thikriwala police station. Police spokesman said on Sunday that Amir Iftikhar resident of Chak 273-JB Mahlan had an old enmity with Aslam etc of the same locality.
On the day of incident, Aslam etc allegedly opened indiscriminate firing and killed Amir.
The police took the body into custody and started investigation.
CCTV cameras to be installed on canal road
FAISALABAD
Close Circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras would be installed on Canal Road and important intersections of the city under Safe City Project.
During a meeting Divisional Commissioner Saqib Mannan said on Sunday that Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) will provide financial assistance for installation of CCTV cameras.
He directed the IT experts of the district government and police department to immediately conduct survey and submit report by identifying important and suitable positions for installation of CCTV cameras on Canal Road and so that physical step could be taken for early completion of this project.
SP Security Mirza Anjum Kamal, DSP Ejaz and representative of FCCI were present in the meeting.
