Pakistan comes first, says Musharraf

APML fails to attract Karachiites

KARACHI - The All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) failed to bring people of Karachi on roads as very low attendance was witnessed at party public gathering held at Liaquatabad Flyover in Karachi.

APML leadership preferred to hold the party public gathering at a flyover that has turned into political vicinity after the public gathering of Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP).

Earlier, both MQM-P and PSP have chosen the venue to stage power show however AMPL leadership faced not a success in bring Karachiites out to attend former dictator led party public gathering at the same venue. A part from this AMPL banners were displayed across the city and workers carried out campaigns in different parts of the city as well to make the rally successful.

I am not a “Mohajir” nor belong to MQM but I am a Pakistani first, said AMPL Chief and former Chief of Army Staff General (R) Pervez Musharraf’s while addressing party gathering.

“I have come up from a middle class family and in my life I have always worked for the progress of country keeping aside any personal gain. Karachi is economical hub of country and armed based politics ruined the entire city. Political forces including Awami National Party (ANP) and Muttahida Qumai Movement (MQM) ran their armed groups to hold the control of city and in result Karachi witness ethnic violence,” said Musharraf.

“We are not born to kill or to be killed, said former COAS asking the people to show unity and put Pakistan first. He asked people to Karachi to the follow him. I would guide you-Karachiites on the path of success and prosperity. I always kept Pakistan first and during my ruling era made all the efforts to bring betterment in the country. People of Lyari would state that Pervaiz Musharraf has done a lot for them, said APML Chief. Party after coming in power would resolve all the issues but it could only possible when people realise the facts and support AMPL,” he claimed.

AMPL chief said that people have fed up from the monopoly of few political parties and APML will steer Pakistan from ongoing challenges of deteriorating economic crisis and mounted inflation, corruption and shortfalls.

Talking about the MQM-P and PSP, he said that the merger of both parties could generate better results for the people of Sindh province, as unification of these groups is the only way to defeat Pakistan People Party in Sindh. Further giving an impression of APML, MQM-P and PSP electoral alliance in next general election, the former President said all three parties could jointly contest the polls and after success can form the government in the province.

On the occasion, AMPL chief held neighboring country India for destruction of Pakistan. He said that India has not halted its conspiracies against the Pakistan and again attempting destabilises our homeland.
