PTCL recovers Rs42m from defaulters

MULTAN (APP) - PTCL Multan region has recovered Rs 42 million from defaulters during last fiscal year 2009-10, said Regional General Manager Rao Aftab Ahmad. It was Rs 14 million up the recovery registered in fiscal year 2008-09 while a target of Rs 50 million has been set for current financial year for the recovery from 250,000 subscribers in Multan region, a press release quoted the regional GM as saying. Rao Aftab said in a meeting that recovery team of PTCL Multan region performed best in the country by recovering Rs 11 million in June 2010 from 3356 defaulters. He said that telephone connections of 7000 defaulters were restored last year under the Win Back scheme of PTCL. He said that legal procedure was being adopted to recover dues from defaulters and notices were being issued to them. He ordered officials concerned to further speed up the recovery process. He said that those who opt to avail Win Back scheme should be facilitated adding that default amount be received from them in easy instalments and connections be restored immediately. He lauded the performance of revenue manager Ansar Mughal and his team.
