Cops awarded for foiling terror bid

Rawalpindi - Regional Police Officer (RPO) Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja on Thursday awarded cash prizes and commendatory certificates to the cops who foiled a terror bid in Gujar Khan by seizing 15kg explosives a few days ago.
According to details, RPO Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja gave cash prizes of Rs10,000 and certificates to cops namely Kamran Akbar and Arshad Mehmood, who recovered 15kg explosives from the possession of two terrorists in Dhoke Hayyat Ali, Gujar Khan.
Meanwhile, cash prizes of Rs10,000 and commendatory certificates to two cops of Police Station Pirwadhai namely Muhammad Asif Mir and Tayyab over barring motorcyclists at Khayaban e Sir Syed, Mohammadi Chowk.
However, according to police, the motorcyclists opened fire on police part, injuring a cop Tayyab. During firing a companion of motorcyclists namely Syed Hassan Abbas was also killed. Talking on the occasion, RPO Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja said that the brave police officers and cops were asset of police department.
He said that those cops who would perform duty with dedication and commitment would be rewarded while the corrupt would be dealt with iron hands.
