Foreign dignitaries call on army chief

ISLAMABAD - Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif Thursday received three high profile foreign dignitaries including Commander Resolute Support United States Forces in Afghanistan, Australian Foreign Minister and Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Myanmar who met him separately at his office and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.
According to ISPR, General John F. Campbell, Commander Resolute Support United States Forces in Afghanistan, called on the Chief of Army Staff. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest including border coordination mechanism along Pak-Afghanistan border and security situation in Afghanistan were discussed. Likewise, Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop visited the GHQ and called on the COAS. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest including defence and security coop between both the countries came under discussion.  The Australian FM appreciated the successes of Zarb-e-Azb and sacrifices rendered by Pakistani security forces in this operation. She also appreciated Pakistani security forces efforts towards regional stability.
Meanwhile, General Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Myanmar, visited the General Headquarters and called on Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif. During the meeting, matters of professional interest, military to military relationship and defence cooperation were discussed.
