Islamabad: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan said today that extra ballot papers were printed in every constituency of Punjab just a few hours before the elections.
While talking to reporters after appearing before the Judicial Commission, he said
that the former election commissioner for Punjab, Mehboob Anwar was not even aware about how many extra ballot papers were being sent to which constituency.
He questioned that if the ballot papers were to be printed in Rawalpindi, why were people brought from Lahore?
The PTI chief said that the Judicial Commission has also raised the same question pointing to the irregularities.
He said that the extra ballot papers were in possession of the returning officers while the Punjab election commission had no record of the extra ballot papers.
Imran said that Nawaz’s speech on the polling night seeking support was tantamount to rigging and in contradiction to the rules of the election commission.
