Rawalpindi - Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said that efforts were being made to implement uniform timings of Azaan and Nimaz across the country.

Moreover, the government would also take concrete steps to celebrate the religious festivals such as Eidul Azha and Eidul Fitr and advent of Ramzan-ul-Mubarik on one day across the country. He expressed these views while addressing “Dastarbandi” function held at Darul Aloom Taleem ul Quran at Raja Bazaar here on Thursday.    Addressing the function, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said that the government was mulling over implementing uniform timings for Azaan and Nimaz in the country besides celebrating Eids and advent of Ramazan on one day in Pakistan. He said that seminaries in the country would also be brought into a streamline and for this formation of Islamic Education Commission was mandatory. Commenting on Haj arrangements this year by the government, the minister said that steps were being taken by the ministry to make the system transparent and corruption-free for balloting of Haj.

He said that the government under wise leadership of Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Nawaz Sharif was making arrangements for the third time for devotees. “All the Hajis would be provided adequate facilities in KSA,” he pledged. He informed that balloting for Haj applications would be held on May 14 whereas today (Friday) was the last day for submission of applications for Haj in the country.

On a query, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf replied that the role of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was being improved in order to win the trust of people of Pakistan.
