PTI chides govt over party senator’s arrest

ISLAMABAD     -    Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders have chided the government over the arrest of party Senator Saifullah Nyazee from Islamabad on Friday. The top leadership immediately took to twitter to condemn the government action. Senior party leader, Shereen Mazari said: “Senate Chairman should be ashamed that Senator Saifullah Nyazee has been picked up by unknown people from Islamabad without his knowledge or approval.” PTI senior leader Fawad Chaudhry said the senator was picked from the senate premises. “This kind of fascism was never witnessed before. Nothing can be so contemptuous to the parliament than this,” he added. He asked the Chairman senate to come to the occasion and take notice of the same. Dr. Iftikhar Durrani also condemned what he called the kidnapping of the senator. “Senator Saifullah Niazi has been kidnapped from the Senate premises,” said Dr. Iftikhar Durrani as he criticized the government for the move. He said the house of the senator was also attacked earlier and his personal belongings were taken into custody.
