Space festivity continues at IST under banner of World Space Week

ISLAMABAD-The World Space Week celebrations with all its space and technology themed activities are in full swing at Institute of Space Technology (IST) Islamabad for the second consecutive day to motivate the younger generation towards exploring the exciting journey towards space technology.
The event, being organized by IST in collaboration with National Center of GIS and Space Applications, is an annual week-long space festivity encapsulating over 100 events related to space science, technology and its applications. 
World Space Week is aimed at celebrating and acknowledging the contributions of Space Technology towards betterment of humankind. It is the largest annual space event of the world aimed to build up the workforce of tomorrow by inspiring students and educating the public about multifaceted domains of space. 
The second day of World Space Week was planned to render the literary, artistic and entrepreneurial talents along with honing the creativity of the participants through various competitions including creative writing, astropreneurship, space declamation, space theatre, story-telling and many other interesting activities. 
Under the patronage of SUPARCO, Institute of Space Technology has been celebrating World Space Week since 2005, in line with its vision “be a national torchbearer in the realm of academics, through quality teaching, robust research and outreach, to produce leaders in the field of space science and technology, in line with national aspirations.”
During the week-long festivity, IST organises a wide range of events to motivate and inspire young minds towards the interdisciplinary horizons of space technology, through various competitions, lectures, webinars and trainings. 
WSW 2022 features more than 100 events under 12 major categories, including space recitations, space quiz, space creative writing, space applications, space innovation, space technology demonstration, space models and collectables, space fine arts, space performing arts, space architectures, space for un sustainable development goals and space life. 
With over 2,000 participants from around 40 schools, colleges and universities across Pakistan, the WSW 2022 will conclude on October 8.
