KARACHI - The mobile phones have become the leading preacher of Islam in the metropolis especially in Ramazan, as out of more than 5 million receive and send religious-based massages hence nourishing the spirituality of the citizens. Karachiites tremendously enjoying the evolution of technology through sending and receiving messages based on Quranic verses, Hadith of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), narrations of Ahl-e-Bait Muhammad (SAW) and Aha-Hadees-e-Qudsi to their fellows. Thousands of messages containing the Islamic information, guidance and teachings are being circulated on daily basis among the people of the City. The intention of these messages is usually to spread social awareness and Islamic guidance, extracted from the teachings of holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his progeny. Mujtaba Qadri, student of MBA at a local university, has been sending messages of Quranic verses, Hadiths of holy Prophet (SAW), and other related things. He said that through this he want to motivate my family persons, friends and my circle to concentrate on the holy teachings. "I feel satisfaction to do that because if any person would be motivated through these messages, this will be my goodness," he added. He said that he was sending several messages of this nature daily and also received the same in reply. Conversely, mobile phone users have started using Islamic ring tones and wallpapers during Ramazan. It is witnessed that the Karachiites have been downloading and exchanging various Quranic verses, Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH) and other religious sayings with their friends via Bluetooth, infrared, and from the mobile phone outlets to get the desired things. "I have downloaded Surrah-e-Rehman and Surrah-e-Yaseen, Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH) and various Qawalis to my mobile phone to get the blessings of Ramazan, said Faraz Ahmed, a govt teacher. He said that he would share these religious sayings with his friends and family persons because all of them would not had enough money to do this. Through this we would keep in touch with the religious teachings especially during the holy month. Khurram Hassan, the owner of a mobile phone outlet, said that many people especially the youths were visiting various shops and had download the items related with the religion including Quranic verses, naats, qawalis and Islamic wallpapers. He said that their business was not effected during the Ramazan because the downloading of Islamic tones, verses, naats and qawalis are in full pace and in last week of this month, the sales and purchase of mobile phones would be increased.
