ISLAMABAD - Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry and NICON Group of Colleges have explored mutual collaboration and making joint efforts for the development of entrepreneurship in students to make them driving force of the economy.
Mir Wajid Ali, Regional Director of NICON Group of Colleges along with his team visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry to discuss areas of mutual collaboration for skills development and capacity building of students to encourage them towards business ventures.
Speaking at the occasion, Zafar Bakhtawari, President ICCI pointed out that there is a huge demand for skilled females in small businesses, especially in cosmetic and health care areas. He said trained females equipped with right skills have great potential to get jobs easily and earn decent living in SME sector.
He suggested that government should establish entrepreneurship clubs for providing training to youth in small skills in different vocational areas, which will make them more productive and help in reducing unemployment.
Zafar Bakhtawari said that NICON Group of Colleges should start training programs for developing demand driven skills in students and ICCI would assist it in needs assessment to design training programs that could produce the required skilled manpower for industry. He assured that ICCI would also cooperate with NICON Colleges for placement of its trained students in different industries as internees so that they could prove their talent and get better jobs.
Mir Wajid Ali, Regional Director, NICON Group of Colleges said that proposals of ICCI would be given due consideration to make joint efforts for producing skilled manpower for business and industry.
He said NICON Group has already launched different diploma programs on business & management, salesmanship, fashion & textiles, computing & systems development, construction & built environment etc. and more customized training programs in consultation with ICCI would be designed to meet the needs of small businesses and industry.
He said NICON Group is organizing a training oriented workshop and invited ICCI staff to participate in that training, which would be beneficial for them. Ms. Fariha Nasim Director Operations, Ms. Zobia Ali Director Academics and Ms. Samra Setti Head of English Department of NICON Group of Colleges were also present at the occasion.
