A suicide attack killed four counter-narcotics policemen and a child in opium-producing southern Afghanistan on Thursday, police told foreign news agency. Helmand deputy provincial police chief Kamaludin Khan initially said five policemen were killed and two wounded in the blast in the provincial capital of Lashkar Gah. But an investigation found that one of the dead was a child, he told the agency. Seven policemen were wounded in the attack on a convoy of police vehicles setting out to eradicate opium fields on the outskirts of town, he said.
