ISLAMABAD (APP) - Federal Minister for Labour and Manpower, Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah said up to 70 per cent sacked employees have been reinstated, who were removed from their jobs between 1996 to 1998. The minister was talking to the media after the meeting of Federal Cabinet Committee for reinstatement of sacked employees here Wednesday. Shah said as many as 9900 employees of various Government and Semi Government organizations were sacked during this period. According to reports presented during the meeting 70 per cent employees have been reinstated todate and reinstatement letters have already been issued to them, he informed. The Minister stressed that all institutions should write to them so that they can contact their relevant institutions for reinstatement. He said there are 5 percent sacked employees who are not reinstated on their jobs due to technical matters. He directed the concerned to submit such cases to Revenue Board for review of their cases. During the meeting, the minister said as per policy of PPP, the government is trying to provide more jobs to the people to alleviate poverty in the country. He underlined that decision taken by the Cabinet for reinstatement of sacked employees must be implemented as soon as possible to solve their problems. Federal Ministers, Syed Naveed Qamar, Rehmat Ullah Kakar, Justice Abdul Razzaq Thahim, Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour Dr. Aasim and Rana Muhammad Farooq Saeed Khan also attended the Committee meeting.
