Turkish Commander meets PAF Chief, COAS and CJCSC

ISLAMABAD - The visiting Commander of the Turkish Air Force General Hasan Aksay Tuesday discussed matters relating to professional interest, regional security and bilateral defence cooperation with PAF Air Chief and military topnotch. According to official sources, General Aksay along with three-member delegation visited the PAF Air Headquarters where he was received by the Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman and was presented the Guard of Honour by a smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Air Force. After reviewing the Guard of Honour, the Turkish Commander was introduced to the Principal Staff Officers of Pakistan Air Force. The distinguished guest also paid homage to the PAF martyrs by laying wreath on the Monument. Commander Turkish Air Force also called on Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman in his office. The meeting lasted some time in which they discussed matters of professional interest. The delegation also attended a briefing at Air Headquarters on the organisation, role and functioning of Pakistan Air Force. Later, General Aksay visited General Headquarters and called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani. The visiting dignitary remained with the Chief of Army Staff for some time and discussed matters of professional interest. He also visited Joint Staff Headquarters and called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Tariq Majid. They exchanged views on the regional security situation, matters related to bilateral defence cooperation and other issues of mutual interest. The visiting dignitary expressing sympathy on the loss of lives in the terrorist attack at Parade Lane mosque on December 4 and reiterated Turkeys steadfast support to Pakistan to overcome its security challenges. In response, the CJCSC thanked the Turkish dignitary for the expression of solidarity and said that our struggle is solely for the defence of Islamic and national integrity. Since our objectives are sincere and our national determination strong, we shall succeed with the will of Allah Almighty, said the CJCSC.
