ISLAMABAD - General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chief of the Army Staff, has said that Pakistan Army is well-equipped, highly motivated to defeat conventional and unconventional threats. In his address to officers of the Command and Staff College, Quetta on Tuesday, General Kayani emphasised the need for harmonisation of socio-political, administrative and military strategies to achieve an environment of peace and stability. He said, Ultimately it is the will of the people and their support that is decisive, and it is critical that Pakistan Armys efforts are backed by the nation. Urging the officers to focus on professional pursuits, the Chief of Army Staff emphasised that the leadership would remain the decisive factor in outcome of any military campaign and officers must lead by personal example. The COAS informed the audience that the efforts were being made to equip the Army with modern and best possible hardware, within the given resources. On arrival, Commander Southern Command, Lieutenant General Javed Zia and Commandant Command and Staff College, Major General Khalid Rabbani received the Chief of Army Staff. Meanwhile, General Kayani also visited School of Infantry and Tactics at Quetta, and was briefed about the conduct of training at the school and also visited various training facilities developed to train the Army for future warfare. He appreciated the standard of training being conducted. Earlier, on arrival, Commandant School of Infantry and Tactics, Major General Agha Muhammad Umer Farooq received the Army Chief.
