FAISALABAD - Speakers at a seminar on Friday called for safeguarding the rights of women in society according to the injunction of Islam.
They addressed a seminar arranged by Directorate of Financial Assistance University Advancement University of Agriculture Faisalabad in collaboration with Career Development Centre and Women Development Department, Punjab to mark International Women Day.
The speakers included Dr Ashaq Ahmad Maan, Director Institute of Home Economics Naheed Abbas, Dr Noureen Rana, Career Development Officers Saira Khan and Aneela Javaid.
They also condemned inhuman, unethical’ treatment of women’ in society and stressed the need for gear up efforts for the empowerment of women by getting guidelines from Quran and Sunnah.
They stressed the need for follow in the footprints of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). They said women empowerment was a key phenomenon for bringing in sustainable socio-economic progress of any country. They added that in the male dominated society, it was the need of the hour to create awareness among the masses to provide equal opportunity for women in the health, education and other sectors.
